Sometimes the best tech doesn't feel like tech at all.
I set up a TRMNL e-ink display on my desk. It's about the size of a Kindle. Always on. No notifications, no buzzing, no blue light. Just information, sitting there when I need it.
What It Shows
- Weather — important when you're scheduling outdoor work
- Bitcoin price — because I keep an eye on it
- Today's calendar — all events at a glance
- Sales inbox summary — new leads or "all clear"
- Daily quote — because why not
Jarvis pushes fresh data to it every morning as part of the automated routine. Zero effort from me.
Why E-Ink?
I don't need another screen competing for my attention. E-ink is passive — it sits there like a picture frame. Glance at it when you want, ignore it when you don't.
It's the difference between a dashboard and a distraction. One serves you. The other owns you.
Cost
The display was about $100. The data pushing is free (webhook from Jarvis). It replaced the habit of checking my phone first thing in the morning — which always turned into 20 minutes of scrolling.
Small investment. Huge quality of life improvement.
